April showers bring May flowers....

I love this time of year where life begins to appear again in the forests, fields, etc.

It's been awhile but we are about to start hike #18 on the 52 hike challenge. We did return trips to Boyce Park and Duff Park since my last post. Yesterday 5/21 Shane and I went to a new park called Bullock Pens in Churchill PA. We did the outermost loop for just over 2 miles but there are several loops and shorter paths available. Dogs are allowed and it is paved for the most part. Super easy!

Check out this cute little swing we found!

Of course I decided to test the swing out....

We saw Lots of wildflowers, birds, a deer, snakes, and rabbits on the trail. The flowers below I was excited to finally photograph because we usually see them along a highway. I love the pink and purple together. I have yet to identify them so let us know if you know what they are ! I am sure they are a common pa wildflower.

Red winged blackbirds were everywhere..

It was a nice evening and I would recommend a visit. We went straight home after since we were so sweaty 🤣 (in the 80s on our evening hike) but I would suggest a stop at Carl's Tavern in Wilkins township as a good place to stop for food or go to Brew Gentlemen in Braddock for a beer! Cheers!
