Pleasant Valley park, Murrysville pa.

I cannot get enough of the beautiful wildflowers coming up! I also didnt realize how many types of trillium there are!

We hiked an easy nearby trail at Pleasant Valley park in Murrysville pa earlier this week (Hike #15 of the 52 hike challenge). We did hanks trail and crossed over cheeky chipmunk and back to hanks. Since we have been hiking after work during the week we usually do fast easy trails. All trails says dogs are allowed at this park. We also had a mountain biker pass us.

We also saw some Koi in a pond at the end of our hike so that was cool.

We find ourselves eating out a lot after hikes. 🤣 This time we ended up at Picante Mexican grill in delmont pa. I really liked the sangria margarita but you can never go wrong with a Mexican place ! Although we didn't go this time, yellow Bridge brewery apparently has excellent pizza that we haven't tried but they have brews to try too!

I have always loved butterflies so another exciting thing (besides the flowers blooming) is that they are coming out of their cocoons!

The Zebra swallowtail

Zebra swallowtail above that we saw in Virginia/maryland/wv. We were wondering why we never see them in Pennsylvania but I guess they just don't migrate up this far north. I looked up their food source though and we happened to see the plant they like at PV Park we did this week so I snapped a picture. It is called paw paw.

Cheers and happy hiking.
